I first found out about Society6 several weeks ago, and I saw it as another outlet to practice my digital art but still have a physical product to sell, and I’m so excited about their offerings. I would LOVE to have a physical shop with lots of products that carry my work, but honestly, that’s a CRAZY investment of time and money and I just can’t do it. Plus, I really just want to make art. So here’s the next best thing.
In case you don’t know, Society6 is a print on demand company (like Zazzle or CafePress) but they are geared specifically toward artists and designers (not your grandma printing t-shirts for you family reunion this summer). There are no upfront costs to me. I make a small commission off each sale of my product and they handle production, packaging and shipping – all expensive the things that I’d have to do up front with no guarantee that my stuff will sell.
Society6 is a MUCH better option for me.
There’s some AMAZING stuff being sold through Society6 and I get inspired every time I look through what other bloggers have made. I had to get in on the action so I decided to use the designs I created for Wrappily to get my store going. I couldn’t just put them on wrapping paper. I just HAD to see them on other things too. The more I create the more I’ll be adding over time. Till then, take a look and tell me what you think! Occasionally they run promos and sales so I will let you know here when good deals crop up, or you can like them on Facebook.
