Everyone's been asking us whether or not we're really moving, so I thought I'd do a post on it just so that we're all on the same page. No doubt I will still be explaining our situation, but it's nice to have an "official" statement out there haha.
If our plans had gone..well..according to plan, we would be on the plane to Hilo as I type this. Life, however, is full of surprises. You see, the living arrangement we had set up for ourselves changed, so the pull toward Hilo is not what it was. Keola is waiting to hear back from a job there, and in the meantime, he also applied to a job here on Maui. We're hoping we hear back from both of these positions within the month, so there's really no point in going to Hilo if there's a possibility that we could turn right back around and come to Maui. So for the time being, we're practicing patience and staying put (let's face it, being stuck on Maui is NOT such a bad thing). Plus Grandma's not moving right away and she's thankfully not keen on kicking us out so we don't have to rush off anywhere.
As for me, I'm trying hard not to put my entire life on hold just because everything's up in the air right now. This is a great time for me to practice living in the present, and I'm determined to hone my blogging skills and work on living the life that I spend so much time envisioning for myself when "Keola finally gets a job." It's important to feel useful right now, as doing nothing is a sure fire way to get depressed. So I'm buckling down and working on some exciting projects that I'll be sharing in the near future.
Thank you all so much for your friendship. Your words of support and encouragement mean so much to my family and I. I truly cherish each and every one of you.
